Based on the case study analysed within the framework of the EURYKA project (on the dissolution of the CJE – Spanish Youth Council), we are organising an open debate on the difficulties that young people face in accessing the public sphere and the role of social media in the construction of public discourses. We would like the round table to offer information on the right of young people to access public speeches (as information providers and principal actors), as well as on the effective use of tools (online and offline) to ensure these accesses.
The event will be carried out in Spanish and it is open to everyone. It could be of special interest for academics, members from youth organizations and journalists interested in youth issues.
Speakers: Gema García Albacete (assistant professor at Social Science Department of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), Ricardo Ibarra (former president of CJE) and Beatriz Talegón (journalist).
